The IKMA laboratory
conducts research and development in
Knowledge Mining applied to various Automation systems. Target
applications include medical, manufacturing, finance and robotics,
with automation solutions ranging from data warehouse development
to specialised robotic control. Soft computing techniques are
combined with Internet and IT technologies to provide for high-tech
research and cost- effective implementations.
Special efforts are
dedicated to web-based training and teaching in
the general area of Systems Engineering, with developed facilities that
cater for both academic and industrial needs.
