WCCI 2006
Panel Session on
A Practical Model
for Evolutionary Computation Market Introduction
The panel session takes
place on July 21, 2006 (Friday), 3:15pm-5:15pm,
Grand Ballroom AB
The IEEE CIS Evolutionary
Computation Technical Committee (ECTC)
has been running the Future Directions in Evolutionary Computation
(FDEC) workshop for several years, aiming to assist with defining future
development of the theory and application of Evolutionary Computation.
During the first three years, there was a number of presentations, debates
and discussions from leaders in the EC field. The FDEC workshop
recommendations were twelve items to investigate (three items in each of
four themes). In CEC'05, the Workshop lead to the development of a white
paper for the implementation of the recommendations (which are listed in
table 1 on page 3 of the white paper). The white paper, along with previous
records are posted on the FDEC pages off the ECTC site http://ieee-
cis.org/ec.
The purpose of the panel
is to provide a framework to activate the white
paper, and recommend two to three new "work groups" or "task forces"
which ECTC will be supporting during 2006. The white paper presents an
outline of the EC Market Introduction Template. This one approach will be
utilized to seek an investigation into the various items of the four themes,
hence contributing to the definition of future directions of evolutionary
computation.
